DAIRY ENGINEERING AND PLANT MAINTENANCE
Dy. General Manager (Plant) is heading the Engineering section supported by two Asst Dairy Engineers, three Foremen and the mechanical staff engaged in service sections like Electrical, Boiler, Refrigeration, Maintenance and Motor Transport wing.
The original plant was established to handle milk 1,50,000 Lts/day and subsequently the capacities of all the sections are expanded to meet the milk procurement in the district to handle 2,50,000 Lts/day. The following are the services and facilities available.
ELECTRICAL SECTIONThe plant is provided with three Nos. of 11 KV/ 440V Transformers (i .e. 3 Nos. x 750 KVA) with a connected load of having necessary motor control centres for individual sections. Three Nos. of Diesel Generator sets (1 No x 250 KVA + 1 No X 200 KVA + 1No X 500 KVA) are established in the system to meet the demand of processing in the event of power failure. One 1000 KVA generator is under proposed.
WATER SUPPLYThe plant is having its own water pumping station having infiltration well as well as bore wells on the bank of the holy river Krishna and is being fed through 3 K.M long pipe line. 2 Nos. of under ground reservoirs one for raw water and another for soft water and one overhead tank for feeding to staff quarters (100 Nos.)
BOILER SECTIONTo meet the demand of steam two numbers of coal fired boilers and two numbers of oil fired boilers of three tons capacity each is provided with necessary storage facilities for coal and furnace oil.
REFRIGERATIONThe following capacities of NH, compressors with necessary evaporators, cooling tower etc, are available. The refrigeration unit supplies chill water to the dairy and cools the cold stores as well as despatch dock.

EFFLUENT TREATMENT PLANT
As per the norms of the pollution control the project is provided with an Aerobic type effluent treatment plant having handling capacity of 7,50,000 Lts/ day which will be in operation round the clock

TEM is initiated in this plant. Savings in the cost of utilities like Boiler fuels (Coal/ Furnace oil) and power are attained and it is being continued.
